Mother’s Day is on the horizon, and families are planning that something special for the women in their lives who mean so much to them.
But behind every precious sentiment and heartfelt card, there is an emptiness that hides amongst their shadows. For every sweet note of a nighttime lullaby,
every kiss and every hug, every day gone by, there is a mother, longing. A mother who’s children are no longer; A mother who’s children may never have been.
These mothers need to be acknowledged.
They are the women who’s hearts are full, and arms are wide. Their homes are cozy, ready to be filled. Their lifestyles are more than ready to be accommodating to the needs and wants of an innocent child. These mothers want nothing more than to do what their bodies were designed to; what their hearts are beating for…
Today, we honour these beautiful and strong women. Take a moment to be thankful for the mother who raised you, and the generations of mothers before her. Also, be thankful for the mother who wished she could have had that same opportunity, to have a child thinking of her on a day as sentimental as today. A child to carry on into more generations of mothers. Be thankful for the caring, enormous and ever-strong hearts of bereaved mothers.
…Today, we celebrate you, mamas.
