A few months ago my daughter was diagnosed with celiac disease at 4. We knew it was coming but have had a huge learning curve with foods, hidden gluten and meal planning. This year we paint a pumpkin teal and put it on our front steps to show the Trick-Or-Treaters we have some allergy safe, non-food treats.
The Teal Pumpkin Project is designed to promote safety, inclusion and respect of individuals managing food allergies – and to keep Halloween a fun, positive experience for all.
There is still time for you to do the same.
